Mary Patricia Armstrong

Mary Patricia “Pat” Lahert McManus Armstrong passed away on February 13, 2025, in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 82. Pat was born on August 13, 1942, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Joseph C. and Mary E. (Connors) Lahert and married Jerald C. Armstrong in 1968.

She is survived by her four children, Timothy (Melissa) Armstrong, of Missouri, Tabby (Mitch Corona) Armstrong, of Louisiana, Scott (Wendy) Armstrong, of North Carolina & Sandra (Nicholas) Fougerousse of Illinois; four grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, Jennifer, and Alexander; a brother, Peter Lahert; a sister, Judith (Dennis Mountain) of Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; brothers-in-law, Jack Armstrong, John Ramsdell and Robert Nye; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Ramsdell, Elaine Nye, and Marilyn Armstrong; and her first husband, Paul McManus.

Pat dedicated her life to helping others. She volunteered in many activities including as a Girl Scout Leader, being on a committee for Boy Scout Troop 200, and helping with chess tournaments at Woodrow Wilson Junior High. She worked at Catholic Charities for several years and ran the Christmas Store in Terre Haute. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi and Laureate Gamma Beta. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Terre Haute and then St. Joseph’s in French Settlement, LA although her heart was always with Holy Rosary Church, Seelyville, IN. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Holy Rosary Church, 2597 N. Main St., Seelyville, IN 47878. Rites will be accorded by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority at 11:45 a.m. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at Holy Rosary Church. Pat will be laid to rest in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ryves Youth Center, 1356 Locust St., Terre Haute, IN 47807.
