Martha Jane Woelfle, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015. She was born December 12, 1922 within one block of Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois to Frank D. Reinoehl and Mary E. Chapman Reinoehl. Her husband Frank X. Woelfle, whom she married June 26, 1944, preceded her in death March 15, 1995 after fifty years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey S. Woelfle, October 23, 2010 and a granddaughter, Anne E. Woelfle on April 16, 2014. Her sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Lester Morton of Apple Valley, California also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, John P. Woelfle (Sharon) of Terre Haute, and Joel C. Woelfle (Amy) of Fishers, Indiana; four grandchildren, Todd Woelfle (Amanda), Scott Woelfle (Brandi), Bryan Woelfle (Joycelyn) and Brent Woelfle (Tracy); and eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Jane, Gavin, Jett, Trenton, Tyler, Ellie, Kelsey, and Noah. She is also survived by a nephew, Randy Andrew (Linda) of Hesperia, California. Jane loved to sew, dance, and spend time with family and friends. She did free hand monogramming for more than 40 years. Jane was selected as an honorary Sparkette of Indiana State University. Her monogramming was featured on the ISU cheerleader uniforms on the front cover of the November 28, 1977 edition of Sports Illustrated. She was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute. Jane lived in the Twelve Points and Collett Park area most of her life and resided at Sycamore Manor since 2010. She was active with Terre Haute Sewing Connection, Circle 1 of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, Womans Service League of Union Hospital, Senior Friends of Regional Hospital, Wabash Valley Senior Citizens, Vigo County Historical Society, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Sycamore Club and the Womens Department Club. Funeral Services for Jane will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, Terre Haute with Reverend David Rockhill officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 12:00 Noon-2:00 pm on Saturday.
