Survivors include four daughters, Lindsey Rose Wallace (Jason), Brittany Rose Donovan (Kevin), Skyla Mahurin and Heavin Mahurin (Keith) all of Terre Haute; three step-sons, Edward Mahurin, Jr. of Terre Haute, Bryant Mahurin of Miami, IN and Sean Dixon of Nevada; and two step-daughters, Misty Emerick and Michelle Emerick. Also surviving is her brother, John Kyle (Suzy); her sister, Jeanne Pounds; 7 grandchildren, Shaylin and Ariella Wallace {Lindsey}, Hanna, Christian and Averi Donovan and Ariah Mahurin {Brittany} and Preston Padgett {Heavin}; and her nieces and nephews, J.D. Kyle, Jason Kyle, Kraig Kyle, Ellie Rippy, Katie Sweppy and Jamie Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two husbands, Robert E. Rose and Edward Mahurin.
Marie was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and received her Bachelor's and her Master's degrees from Indiana State University. Earlier in her life she was very active in 4H.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Tim Minks officiating. Visitation is scheduled Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM and also on Tuesday before services from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
