MARGARET IRENE MAYROSE SIEVERT Margaret Irene Mayrose Sievert, 105, of Terre Haute died Friday evening, June 28, 2013 in Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 27, 1908 in Clay County, Indiana to Jacob Fredrick Mayrose and Caroline Meyer Mayrose. Her husband, Clarence George Sievert preceded her in death on February 16, 1947. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, Lewis Edward Mayrose, Clara Susanah Mayrose Stunkard, John Grover Mayrose, Oscar Raymond Mayrose, Sophronia Edith Mayrose, Pearl Inez Mayrose Hudson, Robert Cliston Mayrose, Nellie Marie Mayrose, Cora Viola Mayrose, Paul Lonzo Mayrose and Richard Alfred Mayrose. Margaret was a 1925 graduate of Garfield High School and a 1929 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College. She received her Master's Degree in Education in 1939 from Columbia University in New York. Margaret was a school teacher having taught at East Chicago Washington High School from 1931-1973. She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and Woman's Department Club. Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service to be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Highland Lawn Cemetery with Reverend David Rockhill officiating. There is no visitation. A Family Celebration of Margaret's life will take place at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, 1203 Maple Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47804 or to the charity of your choice.
