Lynn Ann Douglas, 69, of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Methodist Hospital. She was born October 19, 1947 in Anderson, IN to Melvin E. "Tony" Frazier and Cenia G. Frazier. Lynn taught high school English & Literature at Paris High School for 34 years.
After graduating from Anderson-Madison Heights H.S. in 1965, Lynn attended Ball State University for 2 years before moving to Terre Haute where she finished her degree. She and Tim became "we" after meeting in 1969 and marrying in 1970. By the magical "Bird Mania" season of 78-79, the "we" became "three" with the birth of Ben who just happened to be born on 12/7/78 (Larry Bird's birthdate); was that an omen or what?
Survivors include her husband of 50 - 3 years, Timothy S. Douglas; son, Ben Douglas and his wife Kylie; grandchildren, Lincoln Douglas and Oliver Douglas; Aunts and Uncles; June Frazier, Mark and Betty Summers, and Jon Summers; and cousins, Debra Summers, Bill Summers, Melody Hull, Meredith Summers, Larrilee Frazier, Scott Frazier and his wife Sharon, Wayne Frazier and his wife Alana, Eric Ayers and his wife Jan, Teresa Tabor, and Anita Ayers. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Roberta Ayers and Catherine Summers; and uncles, Gerald Ayers and Lawrence Frazier.
Known by her grandsons as Grammy, Lynn fulfilled the role of grandmother to the fullest and loved them deeply. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she belonged to many women's organizations and circles including the reading club. She was a Kids Hope Mentor and organized fundraisers. Lynn was a member of the Paris Teachers Association. She was an avid reader, loved to garden and quilt, was a band mom for the Patriot Brigade for 4 years, and was a life-long fan of T.H. North and I.S.U. athletics. Lynn did not know a stranger because of her concern for others.
Lynn loved to travel with Tim and did so extensively; to the point the destinations were beginning to repeat. This summer they had plans to return to Yellowstone, the Tetons, and northwest.
