Lucille R. Higbie

Lucille R. Higbie, 92, of Terre Haute passed away early Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018 in Union Hospital. She was born April 1, 1925 in Speedway, IN to William F. Rosner and Eva Moldthan Rosner.
Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, Earl L. Higbie; three children, Susan Elaine Hoffman of Terre Haute, Margaret Lynn Fread (John) of Omaha, NE and Matthew Earl Higbie (Terri) of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Louise Ellen Philips; and three sisters, Helen Hissam, Mary Jo Ferguson and Mildred Brock.
Lucille was a graduate of Speedway High School, was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and a member of the Sycamore Country Club since 1974. Earlier in her life, she was an avid bowler and golfer. Lucille loved to travel, and upon Earl's retirement, they spent the next eight years travelling all over the world.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:05 PM, Monday, February 26, 2018 in St. Benedict Church with Father Martin Day, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 25th from 4:00-7:00 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict Church Soup Kitchen, 111 South 9th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
