Lucie Lebel Belzile, 84, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in Springhill Village. She was born December 10, 1934 in Rimouski, Quebec to Emile Lebel and Elizabeth Drapeau Lebel. She was educated as a nurse and worked as a nurse in Quebec until marrying Guy Belzile in 1969 and moving to Terre Haute.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Belzile; daughter, Marie Belzile Theisz (Andy); her son, Marc Belzile (Teresa); sisters, Cecile Lebel and Denise Leclerc; and grandchildren, Josh Belzile (Shannon), Kyle Belzile, Austin Theisz, Alec Theisz, and Drew Theisz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Lebel, and sister, Rita Drolet.
Lucie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Newcomers Club. She greatly enjoyed family and friends and enjoyed hosting large dinner parties for her international friends. Faith was very important to Lucie and she would regularly pray at the Carmelite Monastery. She enjoyed playing mahjong, golf, and bowling, but mostly enjoyed family and loved to laugh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Dan Bedel officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be prior to services from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities, Riley Children's Foundation, or March of Dimes.
