Loretta K. Harden, 89, of Terre Haute passed away Friday evening, November 22, 2019 in Meadows Manor North. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 26 years at Union Hospital. Loretta was born December 5, 1929 in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN to John Kahl and Nora I. Kincade Kahl.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jeanne Murphy of Terre Haute and Sharon Cooper (Dale) of Brazil, IN; her two sons, Michael Lee Harden (Connie) of Terre Haute and Larry Steven Harden of West Terre Haute; 8 grandchildren, Gary Murphy, Jr. (Ellen) of Columbia, SC, Richie Harden and J.W. Harden of Texas, Chad Harden (Robin) and Jeff Harden of Terre Haute, Dale Cooper and Mike Cooper of Brazil, IN and Traci Shafer of West Terre Haute; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brother and sisters.
Loretta was a member of St. Joseph University Parish, St. Joseph Prayer Chain, National Council of Catholic Women, AARP and Retired Nurses of Union Hospital.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Meadows Manor North and Southern Care Hospice for the loving care they provided to Loretta.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in St. Joseph University Parish, 113 South 5th Street, with Friar Cyprian Uline, OFM Conv. officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM in the church. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
