Lois LaDonna (Baker)Holdaway Lois LaDonna (Baker) Holdaway, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, October 12, in her residence. She was born on December 31, 1930 at Hymera, IN, the daughter of Walter and Opal (Stout) Baker. Walter Baker died when Lois was two years of age and she was raised by her mother and (step) father, William Turley. She began working at St. Anthony Hospital in 1967 and retired from Terre Haute Regional Hospital in 2015. Lois enjoyed cheering on her favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals and always looked forward to her yearly vacation at Daytona Beach Shores, Florida with all of her family. She loved playing cards, especially bridge, with her club that she became a member of in 1961. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW . Lois loved being with her family above all else and was loved so very much by her children and grandchildren. Lois is survived by her daughter, Marlene Turner and her husband Dan; her son, Loren Holdaway and his wife, Sharon; and three grandchildren, Joshua Holdaway (Megan), Elijah Turner and Cassandra Holdaway and her finance Jordan Turner. She is also survived by two sisters, Imogene Faught and Juanita Zanders; and one brother, Johnney Turley. She was preceded in death by her parents and (step) father; her husband, Loren "Woody" Holdaway; one son, Brian Dean; two brothers, Winston "Dude" Baker and Herman Turley; and one sister, Sytha Hatfield. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 in K of P Cemetery, Hymera, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. Lois's family would like to thank everyone at Heart To Heart Hospice (Trish you are a true blessing), as well as the Terre Haute Regional Hospital Staff that devoted their time to her care.
