Loeva Mae Piepenbrink, 94, of Terre Haute, was called home to her Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2019. She was born May 3, 1925 in Terre Haute to Christian and Johanna Feller.
She was baptized in the Catholic church and later joined Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Loeva graduated from Gerstmeyer Tech High School. She was the first employee of the Indiana State University Credit Union which was chartered in 1960 and operated out of a one-room office in Reeve Hall on the ISU campus eventually moving to a beautiful facility on North 3rd St. Loeva successfully managed the ISU Credit Union until retirement adding members and staff along the way. Loeva also volunteered many hours serving others including: church alter guild, Sunday School, Altrusa, and working the polls during elections.
Loeva married Walter Martin Piepenbrink on June 8, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Loeva and Walt enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. They had two sons, Kenneth and James. Ken is married to Debbie; they have two daughters, Kari Leck and Kristi Trotter (Nathan). Jim is married to Sheryl; they have three daughters, Hanna Piepenbrink Nemecek (Nick), Rachel Hosking (Erik), and Sarah. Loeva has six great grandchildren (Eli and Emerson Trotter; Maddie Leck; Violet, Lyla, and Henry Hosking). She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Charlotte Fischer and Norma Bucy; and several nieces and nephews. Loeva was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents, and a sister, Maxine Boling.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 645 Poplar St., Terre Haute, Indiana 47807, with Pastor Jacob Sutton officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
