Lillian Edinburgh

Lillian Edinburgh, a resident of Genesis Healthcare, of Riverdale, GA passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born January 2, 1952 in Terre Haute, IN to Henry and Charlieveen (Joyner) Edinburgh. At an early age, she joined First Freewill Baptist Church. In 1985, she became a charter member of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church, Terre Haute. During November, 2011 she joined Antioch Baptist Church North, Atlanta, GA. Lillian was both an athlete and a scholar, and was educated in the Vigo County School System, Terre Haute, IN. She attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School, Sarah Scott Junior High School, Wiley High School, South Vigo High School, and Indiana State University. She worked at the former Public Service Company of Indiana for more than 20 years.
Lillian was preceded in death by her father and mother as well as two sisters, Ella Eileen Edinburgh and Edna Marie Spencer (the late Edward Buck Spencer). She is survived by four sisters, Myrtis Colvin of Montgomery, AL, Josey Goins (Howard) of Greensboro, NC, Margaret Edinburgh of Marietta, GA, Creola Taylor (the late General) of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Joseph H. Edinburgh (Marvel Jeanie) of Terre Haute, IN; two aunts, Ilenn (Joyner) Anderson (the late James Anderson) of Jeffersonville, IN and Ruth Mae Joyner (the late Joseph E. Joyner) of Terre Haute; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday May 6, 2016 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2701 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803 with the Reverend Cleytus Malone officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to services at the church. The family kindly requests that monetary donations be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
