Leota E. Spears Brown Leota E. Spears Brown, 97, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Signature Health Care of Terre Haute. She was born February 12, 1916 in Terre Haute to Joseph A. Spears and Eva Mae Beeson. She retired from Glas- Col Apparatus. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Brown Landes and her husband George of Terre Haute; a very dear niece, Donna Van Horn; three grandchildren, Tim Landes and his wife Linda, Tammy Landes and friend Eddy Hull; Tracy Landes Buis; four great grandchildren, Dwan Landes Ortiz and her husband Chris, Cody Landes, Casey Landes and his wife Brandi and Nikki Buis and friend Eddie Pair; seven great great grandchildren, Anthian, Rylan, Bruce, Keith, Jaylee, Eddy, Jr. and Emma. Leota was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Louise Spears Van Horn and her husband Martin; a grandson, Thomas Landes; and a great grandson, Travis Landes. Leota was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She really enjoyed her cats, playing bingo and joining in or the many games played at Royal Oaks where she was for the last several years. She was an avid reader and liked working with flowers and being outside. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 17, 2013 in Highland Lawn Chapel with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. There is no visitation scheduled. Services are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. The family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice.
