Lelia Jean Witsman Houseright, 86, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Springhill Village. She was a nurse for 30 years having worked at several area hospitals including the former St. Anthony Hospital before her retirement in 1980. Lelia was born September 29, 1928 in Decker Chapel, Indiana to Charles Witsman and Opha Self Witsman. Her husband, Roscoe Houseright preceded her in death on February 5, 1982. Survivors include a son, Jack C. White, Jr. (Terry) of Owensville, Missouri; two daughters, Jean White (Joan) of Terre Haute and Jane White of Terre Haute; a brother, Dale Eugene Witsman of Georgia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters. Lelia was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and was active in the Mission Group at church. She was a dedicated Christian who helped lead others to Christ. There are no services or visitation. Private burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
