Larry A. Schoffstall, Sr., 72, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Union Hospital. He was a conductor with CP Rail and retired after 43 years of service. Larry was born January 11, 1945 in Terre Haute to Paul H. Schoffstall, Sr. and Loray Jones Schoffstall.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Janice Fell Schoffstall; three children, Lori Effner (Chris), Larry A. Schoffstall, Jr. (Amy), and Jason Schoffstall (Shelley); a sister, Joan Kehoe; and six grandchildren, Jordan Schoffstall, Lucas Schoffstall, Megan Effner, Alexis Johnson (Canaan), Kalie Schoffstall, and Colby Schoffstall. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Ruth Schoffstall of Florida, Linda Horn (Wayne) of Colorado, and Shirley Ellis (Charles); several nieces and nephews; and his furry friend, Eli. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Paul H. Schoffstall, Jr.

Larry was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and was a member of Union Christian Church. He loved being outdoors, gardening, and cutting grass. He also was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17th from 3:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. Funeral information may also be found at www.callahanandhughes.com.
