Larry Guy Bruce, 82, of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute passed away Sunday evening, December 17, 2017 in Indianapolis. He was a financial planner and retired Army Lieutenant Colonel that served on Active Duty and Reserve. Larry was born in Vigo County, Ind. to Walter Guy Bruce and Mary Isis Stelle Bruce.
Survivors include his three children, Laura Monroe of Newton, Ks., David Bruce of Indianapolis and Lisa Piper (Rob) of Warrenton, Va; his sister, Shirley Kelley of Terre Haute; two step-sons, Charles Scott Bowman (Lora) and Robert Bowman (Rebecca) all of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Margaret Coons of Indianapolis; uncle, Kenny Tilford (Ramona) of Terre Haute; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives, Darlene Bruce and Pamela Bruce; and his sister, Murlgene Bensinger.
Larry was a graduate of Pimento High School, received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University and his MBA from Indiana State University. He dedicated 31 years of his life with the Army National Guard serving as an Artillery Officer and Pilot.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Kenny Tilford officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21st from 4:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home.
