KENNETH H. WILLIAMS Kenneth H. Williams, 70, lifelong resident of Terre Haute, died early Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, in Meadows Manor East. Born December 11, 1942, in Terre Haute to Kenneth R. Williams and Charlotte Miller Williams. Ken was best known as the President and owner of Terre Haute Engraving Corporation, an 80-year-old business. Survivors include his former wife and best friend forever, Rebecca G. Hayhurst Williams of Terre Haute; two sons, Todd Williams and Chad Williams, wife Carol, all of Terre Haute; three brothers, D. Russ Williams, wife Patricia of Apollo Beach, FL, and Charles Williams, wife Donna, and Scott Williams, wife Armeen, all of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Nick Williams, Harry Williams, and Rose Williams; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A 1961 graduate of Garfield High School, he studied at Indiana State University's School of Business. He was a member and officer for many years of the National Association of Accountants. Ken was past President of Vigo County Taxpayers Association and also served on the boards of directors for the Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club, Vigo County Fair Association, and was a long-standing member and past Chairman of the Central Business District Committee. Most notably of his community service, Ken served on the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission from 1994 through 2007, presiding as president all but the final three of those years. During that time the Vigo County Industrial Park was created, and Futurex Industries, Wabash Valley Packaging, Heartland Steel (now CSN), Staples Midwest Distribution Center, Aisin Brake & Chassis ( now ADVICS manufacturing Indiana), ThyssenKrupp Presta , and CertainTeed were attracted. An avid golfer, Ken was a long-time member of the Country Club of Terre Haute, as well as the PGA West Golf Club in La Quinta, California. He was a supporter of Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed his friendship with other members. Ken was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Pastor Lant Davis will officiate a service at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, at 6:00 P.M., Monday, September 16, 2013, following visitation from 4:00-6:00 P.M.
