June Ann Lawler, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Union Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1944, in Brazil, to John William Butler, Jr. and Wilma Morgan Butler. Her parents preceded her in death.
June is survived by her sons: Stephen Lawler and wife, Shannon; Christopher Lawler and wife, Emily; and Benjamin Lawler and wife, Amanda; grandchildren: Andrew Lawler, Jordyn Pierce, David Lawler, Gage Lawler, Emma Lawler, and Maci Lawler; great-grandchildren: Hadassah Lawler, Nehemiah Lawler, Lucas Pierce, Nicholas Pierce, Marcus Pierce, and Owen Lawler; sisters: Veronica Gaskill and husband, Arnold; and Joyce Prevost; brother, Terrell Butler; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
June was a phlebotomist, laboratory technician, and laboratory supervisor for many years. She worked in and around a lab her entire career. She was last employed by Union Health until she retired.
June was a gifted quilter, and her labors of love are treasured gifts among her family members. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles. June was an amazing cook: her Italian beef, homemade pizza, Chex-Mix, and Hershey Chocolate-Chocolate Cake were unrivaled. She raised and loved three spirited boys who each loved her dearly. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them cooking and baking in the kitchen, doing projects, or just visiting. Time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was precious to her. She was a longtime member of Maryland Community Church Twelve Points Campus. June put her trust in Jesus and truly desired to follow Him with her life. She sincerely wanted others to know about Jesus and what He had done in her life. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 24 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. June will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
