Judy J. Day

Judy J. Day, 82, of Terre Haute, IN passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Willowbrook Memory Care of Marshall.  She was born February 28, 1940 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Victor N. Downing and Wilma P. Powers Downing.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Day; children, John Day, Jr. (Heidi) and Julie O’Leary (Pat); grandchildren, Joshua Day, Taylor Shelley, Marc O’Leary, Daniel O’Leary, Christopher O’Leary, and Matthew O’Leary; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Randall Downing and Roland Downing; twin sister, Jill McConnell; and sister, Jonelle Lee.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Downing.

Judy attended World Gospel Church in Terre Haute. She was an active member of the Terre Haute Newcomer’s Club, where she participated in the Quilting Group and the Ladies Card Group. She also enjoyed playing Bridge throughout her adult life, and was an avid quilter for many years, creating many beautiful quilts.

Judy was a kind, loving, and gentle presence in the lives of her family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street, with her grandson, Pastor Daniel O’Leary officiating.  Visitation will be prior to services from 4:30 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
