Josephine Ventiere Isom Walker, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 in her residence. She was born November 9, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph Ventiere and Carmela (Clara) Trotta Ventiere.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Isom of Carbon, IN; daughters, Carol Wegh (John) of Carbon, IN, Susan Luedke (John Gibson) and Sheila Dupin (Harold) both of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Robert Mellon (Novalie), Douglas Mellon (Rosie), Cameron Luedke (Cathy), Benjamin Luedke (Jessica), and Stephanie Hughes (Nick); eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marion Isom; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Isom and William "Dutch" Walker; her parents; infant son, George Bryan Isom; brother, Carmine Ventiere; sister, Ann D'Martini; and longtime friend, Nellie Matherly.
Josephine was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church where she was a deaconess. She loved to paint, knit, crochet, and fish. Josephine was an excellent cook.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Dick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
