Joseph W. Greenlee

Joseph William Greenlee, 90, of Terre Haute passed away June 7, 2014 in is residence. He was born on September 24, 1923 in Coatesville Indiana, to Herschel and Bernice Lydick Greenlee. He is survived by his wife, Nila Burns Greenlee Other survivors include two daughters, Brenda Zuzolo and her husband Phillip of Woodbridge, VA and Lisa Greenlee of Charleston, SC; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Albert Zuzolo . Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II. He operated a shoe shop with his father in Coatesville, worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad, and retired from IBM's Greencastle plant in 1987 after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, Greencastle Lions Club, and the IBM Retirees. After retirement, Joe and Nila moved to Charleston, South Carolina to enjoy life near the ocean but returned to Indiana in recent years. He loved to bowl, go camping in the family trailer, work with wood in his shop, play Uno, win at Bingo, throw cornhole, and listen to country and gospel music. He never met a stranger. Memorial services for family and close friends will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Bethesda Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Greencastle Lions Club, P.O. Box 142, Greencastle, IN 46135 The family would like to thank Bethesda Gardens staff for their kindness and caring during Joe's time as a resident.
