Joseph Anthony Donnenhoffer, Jr. met his God face to face on March 18, 2017 at the age of 70. He resided in Sevierville, TN and was formerly from Terre Haute, IN. While residing in Tennessee, he was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Gatlinburg. "Baker Joe" was an avid outdoorsman, loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed making wine and brownies for friends and family, and adored his grandchildren. He was a 1964 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, received an honorable discharge from the United States Army and was a member of the Riley American Legion Post #328.
Joe married his high school sweetheart, Margaret A. Dean, and was a devoted husband for 51 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. Donnenhoffer Sr. and Katherine M. Donnenhoffer. Survivors include his wife, Margaret A. Donnenhoffer; their four children, Adam (Samantha) Donnenhoffer, Joseph "Eric" (Christy) Donnenhoffer, Katherine "Annie" (Brian) McCammon and Carmen (Cary Booe) Donnenhoffer; one brother, James "Jim" (Vicky) Donnenhoffer; and two sisters-in-law, Susan Dean and Donna (Dave) Hullett. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Kayla Bowling, Jessica Donnenhoffer, Savannah Price, Gabe Donnenhoffer, Sydney McCammon, Hannah Donnenhoffer, Haley Donnenhoffer, Collin Dryer, Maggie McCammon, Mackenzie Dryer, and Logan Donnenhoffer; six nieces and nephews, Shawn Donnenhoffer, Shawnette Bays, Troy Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Heather Petty and Shelby Hullett; and many cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2597 N Main St, Seelyville, IN, with Father Dave Fleck officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Riley American Legion #328. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday from 11:00 A.M.- 1:30 P.M. in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
