Joseph B. Card

Joseph B. Card, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday evening, June 13, 2024. Joe was born December 24, 1941 in Terre Haute to Richard Card, Sr. and Margaret Finnerty Card.

Survivors include his three daughters, Kathryn “Kitty” Ater, Jennifer Kirsch (James), Melissa Thompson (Jeffrey), son-in-law, Joel Harbaugh, as well as his brother, John Card (Cathy). Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren, Daniel Card (Kayelene), Hannah Ater, Sam Harbaugh, Jack Harbaugh (Emily), Lucy Harbaugh, Maggie Harbaugh, Abby Kirsch, Ethan Kirsch, Emily Thompson, Molly Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Anne Thompson, and great-grandchildren, Harrison Card and Lilly Card. Surviving is his longtime companion, Tamara Warner and her sons, Troy Warner and Brett Warner. In addition, he is survived by his former wife and the mother of his four daughters, Sue Lindeman Card, and his nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Mary Harbaugh, his brother, Richard Card, Jr., a grandson, Peter Harbaugh, and a great-granddaughter, Emma Kate Card.

Joe was a graduate of Schulte High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. He loved his family and friends, golf, cheering on the ISU Sycamore basketball team, an ice-cold Bud Light and the city of Terre Haute.

Private graveside services were held at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
