Joretta "Jetty" Elmina Mccalister

Joretta “Jetty” Elmina McCalister, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 in Union Hospital.  She was born June 10, 1934 in Clinton to James Wasson and Barbara Graham Wasson Howell.

Survivors include her husband, Claude McCalister; sons, Tim McCalister, Jeff McCalister, and James McCalister; daughter, Cathy McElroy; and grandchildren, Jake McCalister, Jamie Michelle McCalister, Cole River McElroy, and Ella Waters McElroy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Alex Howell; brother, John Robert Wasson; and sister Laura Ritter.

Jetty was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was a secretary at Woodrow Wilson and a seamstress. She was a very kind and giving person that was loved by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Scott Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church.
