John Frederick Reitmeyer
September 29, 1921 — March 8, 2017
Survivors include his wife, Fern E. Buck Reitmeyer; daughters, Cheryl Combs of Cory and Jennifer Reitmeyer of Lafayette; sister, Freida Garbs of Watseka, IL; grandson, Craig Owens (Janet) of Port Charlotte, FL; and great grandchildren, Austin Owens and Taylor Owens of Goshen, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Reitmeyer; sisters, Johanna Peterson, Dora Lattner, and Grace Hannover; and grandson, Jason Owens.
John enjoyed his family and was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with lots of stories to tell and he always had time to help or teach if needed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
