John Prox

December 28, 1980 — January 10, 2015

John Prox, 34, of Terre Haute passed away after a brief illness Saturday, January 10, 2015. He was born December 28, 1980 in Terre Haute to Robert F. Prox III and Mary Beth Zych Prox. Survivors include his parents, Bob & Mary Beth Prox of Terre Haute; his brother, Bryan Prox (Vanessa) of Terre Haute; his nephew, Jack Prox; paternal grandparents, Robert & Louise Prox Jr.; an aunt, Ann Prox; and special friend, Stacy Smith and her son, Briar. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norbert and Margaret Zych; and an uncle, Bob Zych. John was the Founder of Prox Lawn Care of Terre Haute. He was proud of the business and the team that he had helped build it, especially Jay Tapy and Dan Fagg. John also had worked at Prox Company, Inc. He loved his dogs Bailey and Ava. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 111 South 9th Street, with Father Matthew Malek, OFM Conv. officiating. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00- 7:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Benedict Soup Kitchen c/o St. Benedict Catholic Church, 111 South 9th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
