John F. Pollock, 88, of Terre Haute passed away early Monday morning, May 8, 2017 at Meadows Manor North. He was a Product Development Engineer for Ethyl Visqueen/Tredegar for 42 years before his retirement. John was born September 6, 1928 in Terre Haute to James Pollock and Mary Hollo Pollock. His wife, Myrna M. Maguire Pollock preceded him in death in 2008.
Survivors include his daughter, Alice A. Roushia and her husban, Dale, of Newburgh, IN; his daughter-in-law, Denise Pollock of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, John Pollock, Will Pollock, Sam Pollock and Bridget Roushia; a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Lynn Roushia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Rose Pollock; and a son, Dr. John B. "Bernie" Pollock.
John was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Saint Mother Theodore Council Knights of Columbus, was a life member of American Legion Post #104, VFW Post #972 and Marine Corps League, and was a member of the Sycamore Country Club and Elks Lodge #86.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2322 North 13 1/2 Street, with Father Darvin Winters officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors provided by American Legion Post #104. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
