Father John J.K. Nasser, 95, of Terre Haute fell asleep unto the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Union Hospital. He was born December 1, 1920 in Ein-A-Charra, Syria to Joseph Khoury Nasser and Ward Tawil Nasser. John was a Salvadorian Melkite Catholic Priest from Tyre, Lebanon.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Mareena Nasser; son, John Nasser and his wife Mary; sisters-in-law, Joan Nasser and family and Rosemary Kassis and family; brother-in-law, Michael Mareena; nieces, Mary Ann Tanoos and her husband Thomas and family, Salwa Nasser and family, Genevieve Hakima and her husband Fouad, Josephine Debs, Hanan Khoury, Rose Khoury, Marie Khoury and family; and nephews, Joseph Khoury, George Khoury and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Naaim Nasser and Saada Nasser; and brothers, Thomas Nasser, George Nasser, and Naeem Nasser.
John was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He was an author of many books in Arabic and French. John was a loving husband, father, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Matthew Malek OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 P.M. on Friday in Callahan Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M.
