John Llewellyn Moulton 64, of Terre Haute passed away on February 24, 2021 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born on February 21, 1957 in Terre Haute, to James Kenneth Moulton and Sally Zoller Moulton.
Survivors include his two sons, Nicholas Moulton and Matthew Moulton of Terre Haute; his mother, Sally Moulton of Terre Haute; sisters, Molly Greer and Jane Buel ; and his former wife, Molly Nolan Moulton. Also surviving are sisters in law, Linda Kelly and Kely Palmer; a brother- in-law, Gary Greer; several nieces and a few nephews; and close friends, Jim Kelly, Danny Tanoos and Ken Sloan. He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers David Ross Moulton and James “Jamie” Kenneth Moulton Jr.
John was a 1975 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High school and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in 1980. John was an avid golfer his entire life beginning as a junior golfer and continued at Terre Haute South with their golf team. While at South, he was on their starting five for 3 years and was one of the first 4 year lettermen in TH South history. He was a fierce competitor, and played for the Indiana State University golf team for 4 years where he was awarded the ISU I man distinction. He also participated in several Terre Haute Interclub tournaments.
After graduation he worked for American Horizon. In 1987 he became a Financial Advisor at A.G. Edwards and Sons. He enjoyed coaching Dixie Bee baseball with his sons and was also actively involved in basketball program at the Boys and Girls club, coaching both sons for several years. He was a member of the Cadre 13, a close group of friends of whom he had lifelong relationships.
His family and friends will always cherish the bond that they shared together. He will be missed by many.
Cremation arrangements will be scheduled with a family memorial service to take place at a later time. Arrangements will be scheduled under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St. Terre Haute, IN.
