John Walker McCoy, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born August 15, 1944 in Robinson, IL to Loren A. McCoy and Esther M. Terry McCoy. John worked for General Housewares for 25 years and then was a salesman for Hardware Supply, Powell Stephenson, and then Big Buck.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda L. Athey McCoy; children, Shawn McCoy, Leslee McCoy, and Ryan (Andrea) McCoy; brothers, Dr. Ronald (Louise) McCoy, Terry (Rhea) McCoy, and Larry A. McCoy; sisters, Lynda McCoy, Sharon McCoy, and Becky (Leon) Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a loving husband and father. He was a charter member of the Honey Creek Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Marri for his care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Reverend Keith Gaddis officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spay - Neuter League or 14th & Chestnut Community Center.
