John Bruce Fisher, 81, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday evening, March 12, 2024. He retired from Novelis Aluminum after 43 years of service. Bruce was born September 7, 1942 in Terre Haute to John F. Fisher and Marjorie F. Bratt Fisher.
Survivors include his children, Tracey Leigh Fisher Symon (Mike Ellis) of Riley, IN, Terri Linn Fisher Willingham of Terre Haute and John David Fisher (Jackie) of Brazil, IN; a step-son, Rob Valentic; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sheila Ann Hicks Fisher; and step-daughter and her husband, Michelle and Dennis Barnett..
Bruce was a graduate of Riley High School and a member of the school’s Alumni Association. He also attended ISU and DeVry University of Chicago. He was a member of AA Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, USW Local 103A and Executive Board, S.O.A.R. Steelworkers Retirees, Riley Masonic Lodge #390 F & AM, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine, Sullivan County Shrine Club, Riley American Legion Post #328 and Wabash Valley CLC.
Masonic Memorial Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, officiated by Riley Lodge #390. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Lodge #390 Scholarship Fund, 6254 S. Canal St. Terre Haute, IN 47802 or to Zorah Shrine Transportation Unit, 420 N. 7th St., Terre Haute, IN 47807.
