Joann Ijams

JoAnn Ijams, 81, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Union Hospital. She was born February 12, 1935 in Terre Haute to William T. Huddleston and Lorraine Whitehead Huddleston.

Survivors include her children, Larry Hughes and his wife Susan of Otterbein, IN, David Hughes and girlfriend Melissa Katopodis of Terre Haute, and Teresa Hughes of Terre Haute; sister, Debra Wilke and her husband Albert of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Alicia Hughes and fiancée Cody Johnson, Chelsea Edmonson, Sierra Hughes, Michael Hughes and girlfriend Candice Lee, Casey Hughes and fiancée Zach Montgomery, Kayila Hughes, Caden Hughes, and Braxton Hughes; and great grandchildren, Riley Johnson, Charles Johnson, Hunter Belser, and Brynleigh Hughes. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward "Buddy" Ijams, Jr.; her parents; sister, Joyce Anderson; and brothers, William Huddleston and Harold Huddleston.

JoAnn attended Maryland Community Church and was a member of the Central Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Private funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Scot Longyear officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
