Jimmie Harold Royer

Jimmie Harold Royer, 98, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 in his residence.  He was born April 22, 1925 in Bowling Green to Wayne Royer and Carrie Wellman Royer.

Survivors include his children, Bruce Royer (Gisela), Phyllis Collins, Louwana Hudson (Buck), and Scott Royer (Aletta); sister, Martha Rickett; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Royer whom he married July 5, 1946; his parents; and siblings, Gilbert Royer, Anna May Jackson, and Betty Jane Royer.

Jimmie was a World War II Army Veteran receiving the purple heart, three bronze stars, and in 2019 the French Legion of Honor Medal.  He was a member of Free Life Community Church and American Legion Post #346.  Jimmie was a loving father, husband, and grandpa who loved his church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 6, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Dr. Dan Willis officiating.  Burial will be in Ashboro Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Free Life Community Church, 1620 S. 20th Street, Terre Haute, IN  47803.
