Jeffry Darrel Mitchell

Jeffry Darrel Mitchell, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  He was an Electronics Technician for over 25 years at the Conservatory of Music and was a prominent local musician.  Jeff was born September 19, 1948 in Danville, IL to Hugh Darrel Mitchell and Dorothy June Prickett Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Leora Ann Lentz Mitchell;  his sister, Mollie Cahill;  sister-in-law, Judy Lentz of Beech Grove, IN;  and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Music was a big part of Jeff’s life.  He was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians  Hall of Fame in 2008 and played in various local bands and clubs throughout his lifetime.   He attended 8 ^th Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as organist and was a member of the Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Association.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street, with Rev. Linda Snider officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 ^st from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
