Jean Cromwell Price

evening, October 31, 2016 at her son's home in Chicago IL. She was born in Terre Haute,
June 13, 1922 to Harvey Davis Cromwell and Julie Roberson Cromwell. Her
husband, Paul Edward Price, preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include her children, Julie Barnhill and her husband,
Tom, of Phoenix, AZ, Paul Price of Victoria, British Columbia Canada, Robert Price and his wife, Mary Runnells, of
Bloomington, IN, and James Price of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Stacey McCall, Erin Robinson, and Hannah Price;
Great-grandchildren Bethany Robinson, William 'Quinn' Robinson, and Matthew Roozendaal; and several nieces and nephews. Her sisters Lillian McKay and Lloyde Sparks and brother Chester Cromwell preceded her in
death.
Jean was a 1939 graduate of Garfield High School and attended Indiana
State University where she was a member and president of the Alpha Sorority.
Continuing her education, she later graduated from Ball State University with a Masters in Education.
Jean taught for 16 years in the Warren Township School District as a Home Economics teacher.
Her memberships included Clay County
Genealogical Society, which she helped found and numerous other genealogy associations. Jean wrote two genealogy books, one each about her parents' families. Jean had a strong love of animals, especially
dogs and cats and at one time had nine furry friends in her
home. As a young adult she volunteered in the $4 dog shop in Indianapolis. Jean was an avid reader and could always be found with a book. She also loved to garden especially iris which was her mother's favorite flower.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM, Saturday November 12, 2016
in Roselawn Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction
of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. The family
kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington, IN Animal Shelter, 3410 S. Walnut St. Bloomington, IN 47401 or to the Spay-Neuter League, Inc., P.O. Box 3251, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
