Jean Rose Williams Hewitt, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in her residence. She was born February 12, 1928 in Terre Haute to Walter Wallace Williams and Minnie Helton Williams.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William Hewitt, Sr. whom she married May 4, 1968; daughter, Pamala Mitchell; son-in-law, Jim Huxford; daughter-in-law, Jacalyn Hewitt; grandchildren, Catrina McDonald(Roger), Jim Huxford, Jr. (Tammy), Tamara Black (Brock), Jack Hewitt (Katherine), Jarrod Devillez, Joe Devillez (Summer), Shane Huxford (Roby Wayne), Jessica Hewitt, Sarah Hewitt, and Rachel Molter (Dane); several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; nieces, Lynn Martin(Wally) and Terri Brownfield; several cousins; and special friends, Phil and Sharon Dyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Hewitt, Jr.; daughter, Ingrid "Sue" Huxford; and son-in-law, George Lee Mitchell.
Jean was a member of Lakeridge Christian Church. She was an artist and loved to paint. Jean enjoyed gardening and loved to entertain and be with her family. She was a switchboard operator for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 18 years and had worked at Vera Baesler's Beauty Shop, Indiana Unemployment Office, Walker Electric, and Terre Haute City Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Ric May officiating. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. on Saturday.
