Janice M. Salyers

Janice M. Salyers, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2024.  She was born September 17, 1950 in Linton, IN to Norman R. Sluder and Elizabeth J. Austin Sluder.  Her husband, Gerald A. “Jerry” Salyers preceded her in death.

Survivors include her step-daughter, Jill Salyers Ray (Aaron) of West Terre Haute;  her brother, Jim Sluder of Clay City, IN;  several grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Krockenberger.

Janice was a 1968 graduate of Clay City High School.  During her life she worked at Columbia Homecare, Donnelley Directory, AP & S Clinic in Pediatrics, Meis Department Store at Plaza North and The Meadows and JC Penneys.  She was a member of Central Christian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the Chapel at Highland Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jason Paul officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Lawn.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
