Janice K. Reed Jennings, 53, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017, at home with her family nearby following a four-year struggle with Colorectal Cancer. She was born April 11, 1964, in Plymouth, IN, to John and Carolyn (Nolan) Reed.
She married Dr. Greg D. Jennings on December 12, 1987 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN.
Janice was a 1982 graduate of Manchester High School in North Manchester, IN. She earned her BSN from Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis in 1987. Janice started her career in nursing at Union Hospital in Terre Haute as a pediatric nurse and taught clinical pediatric nursing for Indiana State University for several years during her career.
Janice was a member of Tri Kappa of Terre Haute, the League of Terre Haute and past president of Lost Creek Elementary School PTO. She was also a member of the Country Club of Terre Haute and the Indiana State University Sycamore Varsity Club. She was a big fan and supporter of ISU basketball, Indiana University basketball and her daughters' alma mater, Butler University.
Janice is survived by her husband, Greg; and three children; Alexandra K. Jennings of Boston, MA, Jordan (Will) Jones of Nashville, TN and her special son, John Jennings of Terre Haute. She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn Reed of North Manchester, IN; three sisters and two brothers: Susan (Dan) Manwaring of North Manchester, Dr. John (Diana) Reed Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN, Karen (Joe) Gawor of Crown Point, IN, Sheryl (Dan) Vail of McCordsville, IN and Kevin (Beth) Reed of Brookville, OH; her sister-in-law, Gina L. Jennings; mother and father in-law Lou Anne and Don Jennings of Terre Haute and 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Reed Sr., of North Manchester.

And a special shout-out to her infusion nurse, Valarie Batuello, for her countless hours of caring for Janice during chemotherapy at IU Simon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Joseph University Parish, 113 South 5th St., Terre Haute, IN with Friar Mark Weaver officiating. Pallbearers are Mr. Dennie McGuire, Mr. Doug Gee, Mr. Tim Hayes, Mr. Linc Hobbs, Dr. Steve Pilipovich and Dr. Louie Plumlee. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a Memorial Giving Page to benefit the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
