Janice K. Cox, 72, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Evansville, IN. She was a Customer Service Clerk for Verizon before her retirement in 2009. Janice was born October 14, 1944 in Terre Haute to Bert Long and Lois Gambill Long. Her husband, James Edward Cox, preceded her in death in 2011.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Cox and his wife, Heather, of Evansville, IN; two grandsons, Kolin Cox and his girlfriend, Marissa, of Indianapolis and Cameron Cox of Evansville; her great-grandson, Karson Cox of Indianapolis; two sisters, Carolyn Fischer of Evansville and Betty Reece of Terre Haute; and a brother, Larry Long and his wife, Debbie, of West Terre Haute. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Carol Cox of Terre Haute; six nieces and nephews, Brad Byers, Darren Byers, Debbie Rauscher, Janette Clutter, Brian Newlin and Ashley Miner; and many cousins.
Janice was a 1962 graduate of Wiley High School and was a member of the Newcomer and Friends Club. She enjoyed playing cards, gambling, bowling and spending time with her family, especially with her grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Doug Napier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 9th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
