Janet L. King, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in her sister's residence. She was born September 12, 1943 in Terre Haute to Ben King and Margaret Kehoe King. Janet was a retired Administrative Assistant with McGuire Excavating and Trucking for 16 years.

Survivors include her sister, Joan Haring of Terre Haute; a brother, Joe King and his wife Becky of Terre Haute; her sister-in-law, Kathryn King of Terre Haute; and nieces and nephews, Mary King, Deanna King, Debbie McMurtry and her husband Brian, Tom King and his wife Cami, Shaughn Haring, Brad Haring, Jacob King, Emily King, and Tifani Baker and her husband John; and several great nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tom King; and a niece, Virginia Shema.

Janet was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a 48 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed reading and had a great love for her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 27, 2016 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2597 N. Main Street, Seelyville with Father John Hollowell officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
