Jane Marie Atkinson Pessetti

Jane Marie Atkinson of Terre Haute Passed away on Thursday February 8, 2024 at Union Hospital. She was born to James W and Mary Frances (Hanley) Slusser on June 18, 1947.

Survivors include her current husband, Louis Pessetti; daughters, Erica Leschorn (John) and Shannon Lenderman (Bryan); siblings, Cathy Chaney, James Slusser (Bonnie), Betsy Trussel (David), Margaret Vathauer (Kenneth), and Charlotte Hardcastle; 12 Grandchildren, Jedidiah, Rose, Sarah, Frankie, Jabyn, Ammon, Malachi, Kira, Gabriel, Hannah, Maggie, and Abbie; and 4 great grandchildren, Perin, Marcus, Prudence, and Aiden; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Previous husband, Frank P Atkinsons; Sister, Martha Ann; Daughter, Melissa Hoback Lynch; grandson, David.

Jane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served for 43 years in various capacities. After graduating from Lincoln Trails College in 1985, she worked as a hospice nurse for several facilities, most recently, VNA/Hospice of the Wabash Valley until retirement in 2006. In her younger years, she loved to camp and looked forward to the week-long family reunion held at McCormick’s Creek State Park every year. When at home, she enjoyed gardening and tending a collection of bird feeders in her yard.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1845 N 6th St., officiated by, Leroy Sedgwick. A public visitation begins one hour before the service at the same location. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S 25th St.

Flowers and live plants are welcome and appreciated and may be sent to the church on the day of the funeral.
