James Allen Wombles, 56, of Terre Haute passed away early Sunday morning, January 24, 2021. He was an over the road truck driver having worked for Herrington Transportation in Paris, IL. James was born August 1, 1964 in Paris to Paul Wombles and Ruth McIntire Wombles.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sarah Cotton Wombles; a daughter, Natasha Van Ness (Shawn); 3 grandbabies; 3 brothers, Ernest Wombles, Paul Wombles (Melanie) and Byron Wombles (Kaylea) all of Paris, IL; and 2 sisters, Sandy Umberger (Brian) of Paris, IL and Debbie Livvix (Jeff) of Chrisman, IL. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Linna Cotton of Terre Haute; brothers-in-law, Doug Cotton of Terre Haute and Floyd Cotton (Angie) of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Belinda Weir (Mark) of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, David Thompson.
James was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #291, loved to play golf and was a Green Bay Packer fan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street, with Brother Danny Dycus officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 1:00-2:00 PM.
