James N. “Jimmy” DeLoach, Jr., 57, of Terre Haute passed away early Wednesday evening, April 14, 2021. He was born December 24, 1963 in Terre Haute to James E. DeLoach, Sr. and Karen Arnett DeLoach.
Survivors include his mother, Karen Ater of Terre Haute; sister, Nichol Cobaugh (Mitchell) of Nashville, TN; step-brothers, Alan Ater (JoAnne) and Gary Ater (Kristin Williams); aunts and uncle, Jamie and Bill Smock of Terre Haute and Paula Arnett of Terre Haute; and cousins, Colette Straschnov (George), Ryhn Smock (Kate) and Karly Daley (Jordan). He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Lloyd D. “Lou” Ater; and uncle, James Arnett, Jr.
Jimmy was a graduate of Terre Haute South High School and attended Ivy Technical College. He worked as the manager of Jim’s Tux Shop where he took pride in helping with the family business and worked tirelessly to ensure that their customers always looked their best. Jimmy loved hanging with his “motley crew” listening to music. He didn’t have children, but his pit bulls were his babies. He was a true handyman and collector of all things, generously sharing them with all he loved.
There are no services at this time, however a Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street. If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, 1811 South Fruitridge Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47803.
