James W. Buchan

James W. Buchan, 95, of Terre Haute, passed away early Saturday morning, November 30, 2024. He was born November 3, 1929 in Haddington, Scotland to James Buchan and Mary Watson Buchan.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jane Noye Buchan; daughter, Fiona Kress (David) of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Matthew Kress of Dublin, OH, Megan Kress (fiancé, Patrick) of Denver, CO and Marie Kress of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Margo Tucker of Terre Haute, IN; brother-in-law, Charles Lovell (Sue) of Tavistock, England; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.

James was born and educated in Scotland before moving to the United States. He was a salesman for Vigo Liquors Distributors, Inc. in Terre Haute and National Wine and Spirits in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the Sycamore Club, and he loved to golf and watch sports.

Private services are to occur at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
