Jacob D. Long Jacob D. Long, 57, of Terre Haute, was called out to heaven to join his loved ones in paradise on Sunday April 26, 2015 in his residence. He was born in Terre Haute on July 14, 1957 to Ella Niccum Davis. He was a retired self-employed logger. He is survived by his loving wife, Flora Goings Long. Other survivors include four daughters, Crystal Blystone (George), Darlena Long (Donny), Virginia Rowe (Kenny) and Daisie Coombes (Glen) all of Terre Haute; a step-son, Robert Taylor of Terre Haute; two brothers, Lloyd Long (Debbie) of Murray, KY and Tom Long (Jamie) of Terre Haute; his mother; a half- brother, Donald Lark of Terre Haute; three sisters, Leona Snyder, Lola Jordan (Dave) and Sherrie Pritchard (Chris )of Murray, KY; 3 half- sisters, Donetta Porter of West Terre Haute, Billie Lane ( Ernie) and Mickey Froschauer both of Terre Haute; nineteen grandchildren, Douglas, Andrew, Nelly, Christina, Cassie, Christopher, Donetta, Stella, Robert, Terri, Sage, Sandy, Conner, Colt, Trever, Travis, Jacob, Haylie and Lexie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; Jacob was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lark; a step-father, Robert Davis; a daughter, Erica Dawn Long; two brothers, Bobby and Floyd Long; two sisters, Delia Long and Janet Free; and his grandparents, Jake and Hila Niccum and Cubby and Hazel Lark. Jacob was the former owner of Jakes Pallets and a volunteer fireman with both Otter Creek and Nevis Township fire departments. He was a former school bus driver with the Vigo Country School Corporation and worked for the Vigo Country Highway department. He loved to fish and listen to country and gospel music. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Pastor Jim Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 and one hour prior to services.
