Jackie New, 77, of Terre Haute passed away late Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014 in her residence. She was born December 3, 1936 in Grove, Oklahoma to Leon L. Bowman and Letha F. Cloud Bowman. Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Glenis "Glen" New; two daughters, Pamela Brown of Terre Haute and Bobbie Jo Monahan and her husband, Mark, of Terre Haute; a son, Joe Dake and his wife, Sherry, of Tulsa, OK; a step-daughter, Tricia Shaw and her husband, Lonnie, of Canyon, TX; a brother, Carl Bowman of St. Louis, MO; eleven grandchildren; Holly, Joey, Chris, Brandon, Brittni, Steven, Brady, Kelsey, Kollin, Bryson, and Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Madylin and Abrie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth & Ed Duke; and a sister, Donna Johnson. Jackie was a lifetime member of VFW Post #972 Auxiliary. Memorial services will take place at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Private burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Saturday, August 2nd from 3:00-5:00 P.M. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
