Jackie "Jack" Myers Jackie Jay Myers, 79, of Terre Haute died Sunday, January 27, 2013 in his residence. He was born February 21, 1933 in Terre Haute to Harold Jay Myers and Mildred E. Hampe Harding. He was a retired postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service and is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Banyas Myers in 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Myers Lorey and her husband Kurt of Indianapolis, and Janet Jaye Myers of Manhattan, New York; two granddaughters, Elaine Marie Lorey of Atlanta, Georgia and Rachel Leigh Lorey of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a special friend, Roseann Callahan of Urbana, Illinois; two aunts; and several cousins. Mr. Myers attended Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and was a member of the Postal Clerks Union. He was also a lifetime member of Terre Haute Elks Lodge # 86, Rea Park Men's Club, Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars # 972 and American Legion Post 104. Jackie was a school bus driver for 12 years with the Vigo County School Corporation. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a member of the Vigo County Golf Association Hall of Fame and finished 3rd in the National Post Office Tournament. He also won the Ft. Harrison Elks Club Golf Championship. He had the pleasure of hitting four holes in one in his golfing career. Jackie served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Friday, February 1, 2013, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with the Reverend David Rockhill officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 in the funeral home with B.P.O.E. Lodge 86 memorial services at 7:00 P.M.
