Iris Narvetta Jeanne Wicks
November 10, 1937 — August 14, 2019
Iris is survived by her husband, Bill Wicks; two daughters, Terry Strouse (Ken) of Redondo Beach, CA, and Sherry Hydrick (Chuck) of Prospect, TN; grandsons, Scott Strouse and Chris Strouse; an aunt, Jeanne Lawson; several close cousins; and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Rosa and Merl Kent and a sister, Sandy Kent.
Iris enjoyed painting, especially landscapes. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed visiting the Vigo County Public Library and reading volumes (and more). She also enjoyed visiting art museums, and browsing at antique shops. She was a longtime employee of Columbia House. Iris was a caregiver at heart, having cared for her mother and sister before their deaths. She was inseparable from her special dog "Bentley".

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Ed Gladdish officiating. Burial will be in Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
