Helen Virginia Homburg

Helen Virginia Homburg, 94, of Terre Haute, IN died Monday, January 28, 2013 in Union Hospital. She was born July 21, 1918 in Terre Haute to James Foley O'Brien and Mary Barton O'Brien. Helen graduated in 1940 from Indiana State Teacher's College. She was a customer service representative for General Telephone. Survivors include her children, Carolyn Knott of Atlanta, GA, William J. Homburg of Springfield, VA, and Kathleen Center of Normal, IL; six grandchildren, Lisa Knott Louma, Laura Knott-Riggall, Elizabeth Knott Pagels, Erin Homburg, Matthew Homburg, and Chelsea Center; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George J. Homburg; and brother and sisters, Mary Moran, Catherine Finnerty, Agnes Parker, James O'Brien, Roseanne Lord, Gertrude Berry, and Dorothy Burns. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Elks Club. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 1, 2013 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street.
