Heather Lynn Frye, 45, of Terre Haute passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. She was the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Ivy Tech. Heather was born September 21, 1976 in Detroit, MI to James Stolt and Susan Sturdy Stolt.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Frye; two sons, Douglas Walker Frye and James Houston Frye both of Terre Haute; her parents, Jim and Sue Stolt of Terre Haute; and her brother, Brian Stolt (Leshia) of Terre Haute. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Gale Leo Frye, John David, Billy Frye, Rodger Frye (Marjorie) and Robert Raymond “Toby” Frye; sister-in-law, Donna; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Gale Houston and Leatha Leona Frye; and grandparents, Joyce and Thomas Sturdy, and Erna and William Stolt.
Heather was a graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana State University. She had a passion for education and teaching and had taught with the Vigo County School Corporation at Meadows Elementary School and also Sacred Heart School. Heather was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and was active in Boy Scouts as well as high school cross country and track with her children. She enjoyed reading on her swing at home and loved to play cards.
A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 22 nd at 11:00 AM in Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, 1203 Maple Avenue, with Reverend Laura McDonald officiating.
