Hazel A. Montgomery, 77, of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 in Springhill Village. She was born September 30, 1937 in Williford, Arkansas to Daniel Isabell and Madie Eaves Isabell. Hazel was a retired laundry supervisor at Union Hospital. Survivors include her son, John G. Montgomery and his wife Dollie of Bringhurst, IN; daughters, Glenda Shope and her husband Charles of West Terre Haute and Melinda Dove and her husband Ben of Terre Haute; sisters, Charlotte Smith and her husband Lloyd of Frankfort, IN, Wanda Sichts of Lafayette, IN and Becky Graves of Delphi, IN; grandchildren, Breanne Shope, Michaela Shope, Andrea Montgomery, and Amber Montgomery; step grandchildren, Mindi Neiswanger, Adam Dove, and Alan Dove; nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen E. Montgomery; her parents; brothers, Bob Isabell, Alfred Isabell and Leonard Isabell; sister, Georgia Short; granddaughter, Melissa Sue Hendrickson; and great grandson , Colton Hunter Shope. Hazel was a member of Country Hope Christian Church in St. Bernice. She enjoyed playing cards, watching birds, traveling when she could, family reunions, and was a clever prankster. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. Hazel was a true follower of "Days of Our Lives". She loved sports - NASCAR, Indy 500, and loved Peyton Manning "the best quarterback she has ever seen". Hazel was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Moose, Wabash Valley Grandmothers, and the Eagles Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Ray Wright officiating. Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. until services on Thursday.
